He was going in for his surgery
My lovely older brother
I told him that he would be fine
When the only thing I could think about
Was is he going to wake up
The next few days
I sat anxiously waiting for that one phone call
To tell me he was gonna be ok
But instead they told me
He wasnt waking up
I stood at the edge of his bed
And looked onto his face
There was a moment of complication
And a fear that he might not make it
Tears rolled down my face
This might actually be the end
His heart stopped beating
And his breathing came to a stop
I prayed to God that he didnt have to go this way
His heart started beating again
His breathing came back
When his eyes opened
These words came out of his mouth
"I guess you didnt know you had wings. You are my guardian angel."
There wasnt much i could say
With the tears rolling down my face
