my prince charming

prison walls surround me; closing in slowly, slowly
chains bind me to the hard, cold ground
struggling is not refuge; only binds me tighter
numbness is not stranger to my lifeless body

i fear my prince charming shall never come
my faith in you is fading, your even existence is like a dream
i want to run to you in that dream and be held in your arms
alas, binding chains forbade me to sleep, to dream

i try to hold onto that idea that you are out there
right now, thinking, wishing, dreaming of me as i am dreaming of you
i wan to believe in you.
i want you to believe in me.
