day of kindergarten.
It was time for the first
chase around the playground.
It was time for the first
crush in second grade.
It was time for the first
boyfriend in fourth grade.
It was time for the first
day in a school with lockers
lining the hallways.
It was time for the first
kiss that you’ve been waiting for.
It was time for the first
day of high school.
It was time for the first
car that you could call yours.
It was time for the first
boy you fell in love with.
It was time for the first
kiss of man and wife.
But is it time now to grow up?
