Cluster

The monster howls, victorious
The throbbing becomes worse, torturous
I must squint at the blinding lights, eyes watering
It spread to my shoulders now the ache creeping
Fire 1- the Advil is shot back but the monster still roars
Fire 2- caffeine slides down as I ramble through the drawers
Fire 3- Codine is gulped greedily and the monster yowls a promise of more wars
Sounds fade and lights blur
Sleep encloses my tarnished brain
Soon the monster will stir but if it may
Then give me Codine for another day
