“I <3 you forever,” he wrote one day
After all we were married with children on the way.
Our children were n00bs in the making
We were lvl 60s while they merely 18

We chatted every night from about 5 to 7
For me a pastime, for him a heaven
I excitedly typed my good news and started the fight
“I have a real boyfriend! He IMs me every night!”

“Aren’t I a real boyfriend? I’m here for you every day!”
“But you can’t be with me if you really live where you say
And besides I never loved you, I was just out to play.”
Last I heard, he wanted a divorce without delay.

Poor “Mike from Michigan.” He was only in 7th grade.
Too young to have to understand what it is to be betrayed
But when role playing games led his heart astray
There was no way to escape being the Internet Love’s prey.
