Why do I speak at all?

With everything I touch, someone else feels it better.
Why do I touch at all?

With everything I try, something goes wrong.
Why do I try at all?

With everything I look at, a different pair of eyes sees it better.
Why do I look at all?

With everything I love, that love is taken away.
Why do I love at all?

With everything I listen to, someone else hears it better.
Why do I listen at all?

With everything I dance for, another’s dance tells a better story.
Why do I dance at all?

With everything I taste, another savors it more.
Why do I taste at all?

With everything I desire, someone else's desire is more critical.
Why do I desire at all?

With everything I sniff, another gets a better scent.
Why do I sniff at all?

With everything I live for, another’s life is more vital.
