Alone with my friends
Our arms linked as we wonder
A city like no other
Full of dreams and question
The ambition to succeed
And excitement for all
The smell of hot dogs over took us
And the sound of traffic and horns,
As loud as can be, made us aware
That sudden change can happen
This lifestyle is unreal
Crowded streets full of routine workers
People are shoving and pushing,
Like they’re giving something away for free
The frenzy dragged us with them
And we are alone to do anything
The freedom of the city
Is a magic feeling you can’t get anywhere else
The spark of the lights late at night,
Blasting music the clubs play
I guess they’re right about the city that never sleeps
But this is reality and your dreams may be wrong
And your questions might not be answered,
But the excitement of the city will never fade
