Fear.

I fear weakness.
I fear it,
because I've been
weak.

Weakness:
controls you,
consumes you,
and spits you out.

it follows you
day and
night.
It grabs you,
forcefully,
and makes
you fall.

I fear weakness.

I hear it,
calling me,
like an old friend,
calling you,
I run.

I refuse to turn my head.
I will not answer.
My eyes sting,
the pain floods back,
of when I was,
weak.

I forgot myself,
I let others define
me.
Lost,
I would cry out, reach out,
but I had no hand to
grab,
lost and alone.

Weakness.
it is scary,
powerful,
demanding,
so I fear it.

My fear drives,
me,
away from, steering me
from weakness.

because for now,
I define
myself.
