Waves of Pain
I walk up the stairs,
The day is done,
My head hurts from all the pain I feel inside,
I close my door,
The tears are coming,
I fall to my knees,
I feel pulled to the ground by the waves of my pain,
I feel my palms on the floor,
Then my cheek,
The waves finally pulled me under,
I do not resurface.
