What crosses your mind
As you see me walk by?
The weird girl with the tye-dyed skirt
And the bindi between her eyes?
Who do you see?
The goody girl who takes grades
More serious than her hair
Let’s people talk and doesn’t care?
You can’t see all of me.
You can’t see my thoughts
You can’t see my laughter
Which lives long after
The judgment from my peers
You can’t see my heart breaking
When I act nonchalant
As you just write me off
So please my comrade
My friend
My dear
There’s nothing to fear
Just close your eyes
And hear.
