"Above all else, it is about leaving a mark that I existed: I was here. I was hungry. I was defeated. I was happy. I was sad. I was in love. I was afraid. I was hopeful. I had an idea and I had a good purpose and that's why I made works of art."
~Felix Gonzalez-Torre

I am the shadow that ambles in your mind
Collecting all the fears that strive in your soul
I am the uneasy shiver that freezes your heart
Suppressing you in the obscurity of the witching hour blackness
I am your lonesomeness that makes you suffer in your forsaken life
I am your seriousness that will stricken your silence
I am your tears that fall from your face
For I am the one who makes you cry
I am your worry
For I suffocate your mind with poisonous anguish
I am your enemy
I give you no sympathy for you dread my company
I am your ugliness that empties a room of light
I am the bitter winter that refrigerates the world
I am your erubescent remorse that makes you guilty
I am your sin that betrays all that is good
I am your greatest daymare that taunts you while you are awake
For I am the one who haunts you through my destructive words that crawl coldly to your ears
I am your nightmare
For I am the one who destroys a trace of beauty or love while you sleep
I am your last breath
For I will be your death
I will be the end of you

I am the light that ambles in your mind
Collecting all the blissful dreams and memories in your soul
I am the comforting warmth that dances to the beat of your heart
Repressing you in the joyous light of day
I am your company that that makes you alleviate in your bright happiness
I am your laugh that will be the melody of your song
I am your expression that stretches across your face
For I am the one makes you smile
I am your relief
For I release your mind into carelessness
I am your friend
I greet you with a smile and offer a hand to help you from a fall
I am your beauty that glorifies a room of darkness
I am the spring that will clement the world
I am your apology that is easily forgiven
I am your morality that betrays all that is evil
I am your fantasy
For I am the one who blesses you with an imaginary world of a place you dwell in while you are awake
I am your dream
For I am the one who kisses your mind into a heaven that captivates you into a harmonious land that lies afar while you sleep
I am your first breath
For I will be your life
I will be the beginning of you

Because I am the night and I am the day
I am the darkness and I am the light
I am your fear and I am your comfort
I am your enemy and I am your friend
I am your death and I am your life

I am both evil and good
I am both hate and love
I am both a nightmare and a blissful dream
I am the end and I am the beginning
I am every breath you take
I am afar and I am only a second away
I am the piercing knife that stabs your heart and I am the kiss that gently touches your lips
I am the devil and I am the angel
I am your temptation and I am your guiding light
I am never there but I am always with you
I am the beat of your heart
I am the dream that you have dreamt
I am the past and the present
I am what is to come
I am a ghost that is only a fragment of existence
I am the rain that washes away the fire
I am the fire that dries up the rain
I am the fall and I am the landing
I am the endless journey and I am the short travel
I am war and I am peace
I am Heaven and I am hell
I am anonymous but I have a name
I am no one but I am someone
I am everybody and everything but I am nothing at all
I am you and I am not
I am what you make of me
I am choice

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem last year. My inspiration still remains anonymous to me because I do not think there is a specific thing that I am referring to in this poem. But after I wrote it I cam to the realization that what it means to me is that life is what you make it. The choices you make defines who you are and I guess depending on how you see things in life, will determine how you feel about what this poem means to you.
