Crimson Ribbons

The cuts are small
The feelings overwhelming
A crimson ribbon replaces the numbness I felt
I would do anything to feel alive
To feel human
I close my eyes and make my move
I watch as relief spills over with the blood
My heart clenches,
I sigh and go back to the pain.
