I opened my mouth to sing, and out emerged a pebble
Unblemished, golden, luminescent
my dreams
My lips parted in delight, and a diamond slipped between
like a kiss of ice
As I knelt in the grass, I let them fall
Sapphire and ruby, onyx and pearl
My thoughts and hopes and dreams and desires
formed a path of perfect stones
I followed
mirrored shards of memory scattered among the jewels
bleakly reflecting what lay ahead
at last I came upon a crystal sea
where I paused, and stood waiting
Then, in the glow of the moon
I sang out a breeze, which carried me across.
I am still crossing
Unblemished, golden, luminescent
my dreams
My lips parted in delight, and a diamond slipped between
like a kiss of ice
As I knelt in the grass, I let them fall
Sapphire and ruby, onyx and pearl
My thoughts and hopes and dreams and desires
formed a path of perfect stones
I followed
mirrored shards of memory scattered among the jewels
bleakly reflecting what lay ahead
at last I came upon a crystal sea
where I paused, and stood waiting
Then, in the glow of the moon
I sang out a breeze, which carried me across.
I am still crossing
