To think; such simple keystrokes can produce such stunning results. -Myself

Her heart that beats so strong,
it wavers.
Clasped between her fingertips
the paper hangs.
So sure she had been.
So happy.
A wave of confusion claims her.
Grief consumes.
Simple words they sting
cutting away
never to cease pounding in her head.
Mocking whispers.
The life she had envisioned
all impossible fantasies.
Her life to be lived with none.
Lone years.
Ink across a sheet so white
her defeat eminent.
Years of trying for a single goal.
Imagined victory.
His words so clear and precise,
brutally perfect.
Shattered pieces of her sanity,
trust broken.
Five years spent and so much effort put forth.
She has failed.
"I've never loved you. No one ever will."
It ends.

Sometimes in the heat of the moment people can say things or write things without thinking. Something as simple as words can crush one so completely that they feel hopelessly lost.
