Papa told me he saved a spot

The author's comments:
I wrote this picturing a poor, battered Southern girl, whose father died and left her alone. I tried to convey that feeling of desperation and sadness.

It was a beautiful poem (although something happened to the formatting there which made it hard to read.) I liked your reference to the song, 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' or whatever it's called.

Please write some more poetry, stories, reviews, whatever! There's barely anything good to read nowadays and your writing is REALLY good.

Poet to poet, I truly enjoyed this poem.

The structure of it gave me the emphasis I was searching for. (said with excitement)! You're great at what you do! Keep writing and

You'll reach the TOP.
