Once upon a time lived a girl,

Somewhere in the Deccan Peninsula.

No she wasn't extraordinarily pretty,

Neither was she horribly wealthy.

And yet ironically she was the girl

Fairytales were afraid of;

For she never wanted to be a princess,

For she never craved a prince charming.

For she preferred coldness to fake warmths

For she never felt jealousy

At the sight of random beauties

Struggling with their physicality in their fading twenties.

She wore flip-flops and tees faded -

- like yesterday's raindrops,

Decoratinge her self-made

glassy walls.

She was always confined,

Within these boundaries

Of self-doubts.

Had no doors to let anyone in,

Had no rooms

To be filled with yesterday's memorable forgotten sins.

What frightened them the most was ,

She said she loved flowers,

Yet never dressed them on her curly frizzy hairs.

She said she loved roses

But because they carried

Thorns in pairs.

She said she loved flowers,

But not wrapped up as bouquets .

She said she loved flowers

Drooping with pearly waters,

Swaying elegantly amidst the earthy fragrance

On any monsoon day.

And they were afraid!

For her perception of love

Was horribly rare!

She could not be just counted in the usuals,

Not due to her attire I remind,

For she was always dressed in mere casuals.

And again,

Fairytales were abominably scared.

For that girl, she

She is the easiest to hate,

Hardest to relate.

Maybe she was a little insane.

But that girl,

She was and is still

The perfect topic for a debate!

She is fire , she is ice.

She is a delicious blend of sugar and spice.

She isn't that bad, yet was never too nice.

She is the mystery that'll forever

Remain unrevealed,

She is message that was unsent

Before it could be left on seen.

She is the deepest part of Mariana Trench,

Terrifyingly mysterious

And mysteriously terrifying !

Yet, she has sore eyes which never accept to drench.

She is the thirst that'll never just quench.

She has a soul that has half parted already

To some new Wonderland

For the old one wasn't compatible enough

To withstand her witty storm.

And thereby she has a heart that beats

Notes of some distant unrecognised

Foreign land.

Fairytales nightmare this girl

Every passing day,

For they know they're petty lies

Woven together in pretty velvets

To form an illusioned paradise.

And she?

She is eternity

Camouflaged in the biodiversity

Of her dear Deccan land.

She is sun sets and rise combined,

She's raw poetry in disguise.

She's a black hole left unrecognised.

She's beauty that outlaws all dimensions

Of  'fair and lovely' brides.

Therefore , fairytales are horribly petrified

And attempt to erase her name from the history of times.

Well hilariously their fear and insecurity will keep her alive,

Generations forecoming will forever revive

The glory of the lad who outlawed the global standards of FINE.

They would proudly claim:

“Once upon a time,

There lived a girl

Who scared the fairytales! "

This is breathtaking! The way some parts rhyme while others are just free prose is very interesting. This is one of the best poems I have read in a long time. You are amazing :D
