“In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on.”
― Robert Frost

The night I met you glistened with stars.

The moonlight-colored world was ours,

Whispering waves murmured your name,

While the sight of your damp brown eyes

Opened my heart just before the sunrise.

I saw the sun in your eyes.

I traveled all over the world by hearing

The wonders of the your weathered voice.

I watched your eyes streak evidence of pain

Down your face and chin, as your tears fell.

My heart absorbed some of your tears,

The sound of your heartbeat filled my ears.

I heard life in your voice.

The wind played with your hair as we danced,

Under a canopy of ethereal, glowing stars.

You said to let the crashing waves be our music,

But, I only danced to the beat of your heart.

Like a dying star, you lit up the darkness in me

That night we met by that whispering sea.

I watched stardust gather on your skin.

I didn’t mean to leave you alone in the dark.

I hoped you would keep shining without me.

There were too many shadows in my mind,

Too many for your touch to extinguish.

I watch you from the darkened sky, sometimes,

As you gaze across the rippling, star-lit sea.

Our sea swirls with stardust and my dust.
