"Irony [is] the song of a prisoner who's come to love his cage" - David Foster Wallace

Amidst a Sunny Thunderstorm shackled Hurricane

I wandered barren, moorish lands

The air tenderly held my pain

Each bloody limp, each stumble in my lane

Set about a burst of lightning summoned by my brain

Tense crackles and static streaked across the sky

Even the day-old dew refused to drop from its leaves

A black puff of anger, hatred and insane

and with a GASP I was running — making for the eaves

Manifest from pure monotony and macabre melodrama

Night lights left on and the warmth of family lava

Roads that built themselves beneath the feet beneath my feet

The wheat that folds back, it just gives

Deluge of liquid vanilla

I am swimming — no, I am floating — I am carried along

Warm blankets of heat shot through multi-layered glass

Warm dog fur

Warm everything

The heat builds up in lateral movements, an ever-gaining sinusoid

Stores its crackles, saves its flames,

must reach its crescendo, the notes are playing now, watch the tongues dance in the air!

Pink and green and purple synthesized to cure despair!

There's a snap.

Mountain top.

Fell down,

Off over.

My mind returns.

Drawn back along a compass

I'm still running

And when I look behind me

There is a swarm of black ants, beetles descending upon me in a cloud
