"Irony [is] the song of a prisoner who's come to love his cage" - David Foster Wallace

Waves of stone in glades unpared

Come crashing down

Coming for you

Immense movement, vicious digging, rectangular knees into the ground

Cascades of cement crush your skull into dirty wet paste

Beneath the stone forest, you develop a taste

in your mouth of metal fear, agony shot back from the future

To prick your heart and warn you of the inevitable

Shadows slant shadows on hungry dark corners

Shamble through lines, on your knees, panged mourner

Twinkles of tuxedo fire off in the distance

Bring your ear to the ground — cold foggy silence — existence

Screams of boulders raining down, an avalanche hanging in bronzed air

Red drops plummeting from the moon to your hair

The sky is a shriek, cold cement at your feet

Lying prone, face to face, see the moss reaching out

The shudder of dead stone forths heavy icicles through your nerves

down your veins

goosebumps up

freeze your brains

Air suspended in air, a heavy bated breath

That forever holds itself, fumbles of constricting cleft

The coldness and the stoneness and the staticness in time

Will forever not move forward with your joyful, saintly rhyme

Metal cocoon collapse you in a space of paradigm

The shattered lights about you are a backwards-piercing sign
