I'm from a broken home.
Where fights replace love.
Where I’m alone with no lights above.

I'm from a broken home, where silently sneaking is the only thing safe.
Where you go to speak, but are shoved away.
Where you are alone, made to find yourself.

I'm from a broken home, where I work a job to provide for me and no one else.
Where I must be selfish but my heart collapses like my judgment.
Where you help others get back on their feet, giving away money having no greed.

I'm from a broken home where the community is my kingdom, and I'm the king of the streets.
Where I have no control, where survivals your goal, where at sixteen years old your on your own.
Where your friends want to play but instead you stay inside, hoping for another day.

I'm from broken home, where you make mistakes, but learn along the way.
Where actions have consequences, that will always stain.
Where I taste the poison at a young age, unknowingly securing my fate.

I'm from a broken home, where the smell of liquor is nothing new.
Where I consume many bottles of booze to fix my depression what else do I do?
Where I take a detour, now the past stands in our way, somethings you can't undo.

I'm from a broken home, where there's only moving forward, no looking back.
Where my dad used to say, ”In this great future you can't forget your past.”
Where grow and learn from mistakes and get an occasional pat on the back.

I'm from a broken home, where I’m left on my own.
Where I wake, each day in the dark starting my day alone.
Where I go and slowly rome alas I find a life outside my home.

I'm from a broken home.
Where I hear horrid screams from the floor above.
Where I'm stuck for now with no lights above.
