Snow Day

Snowflakes fall from the sky

They land on my cheek

Chilly, but they melt

I try to catch them in my mouth

Aware of the beauty of the white landscape

But unaware of each snowflakes beauty

They disappear fast on my pale skin

As if I can’t appreciate them individually

Is one snowflake beautiful if I can’t see it close enough?

Or is it only beautiful with a trillion others?

Is it the unity of the snow that appeals to me...

Or is it the solidarity of each snowflake?

I wonder on the subject later

But in the moment

I am still there

Smiling

Seeing no greater meaning

Just enjoying the brisk air

Hi! I am Anja, a 16 year old from right outside of D.C. I enjoy taking photos and writing about people's perceptions of the world around them.
