In the deepest part of my mind it stays.
Behind the thickest white door.
It tickles for a release,
But I️ can’t let it soar.

The doorknob twists when the topic arises.
But I️ push it down,
I️ don’t like surprises.

This secret isn’t like most,
It isn’t something you share.
It can become a weakness,
Before others become aware.

The depth of sea is no comparison,
Some secrets are deeper than that.
It wants to be discovered,
But once let out,
It cannot be recovered.

Deepest secrets tend to be the darkest.
How long before someone pries?
That white door won’t hold forever.
And it won’t be long before someone tries.
So lock that door,
Cover it with lies.
Put on the mask and your biggest disguise.

Because that secret tickles for release,
But I️ can’t let it soar.
The doorknob twists when the topic arises,
Threats define me no more,
And I️ don’t like surprises.
