Subtle Storm

As I
Stood there, stared there
The wind rippled in sullen coldness
Frigid flakes flowed over my arms
My thoughts
Were cold
When I
Looked then, glanced then
The sun gleamed muddy yellow half submerged in storm
Burning bold brushstrokes on the greyness
My mind
Was numb
Then I
Cried there, wept there
Brooks of tears trickled to the cascade of sleet cloaking my face
Stinging salty sorrow free in my veins
My heart
Was irked
As I
Thought then, searched then
The storm unraveled like a thickened rope torn in shreds
Hope heeded heart as I gazed up
My thoughts
Were calm
