Mama, Mama how I wish I could walk
How I wish I could walk into your arms
To my bedside you come each day to talk
Small toys your bring- flowers and get well charms

Mama, I call your name at night, but why
Do you never come when I call you so?
These people come instead and watch me cry
These people say you neither come nor go

These people call me mister and feed me
They feed me pills that lay me down to sleep
Mama, I want you to lay me soundly
Lay me down for slumber, help me count sheep

More people say me name and another
Another name they call me by, Mama
Look Mama! My baby girl, a mother!
What are these children calling me Grandpa?
