Walking through the ashes

The thunder fiercely crashes
As I walk through the garden.
Her white dress flows, among the smoldering ashes.
The spectacled eyes are seeing,
Looking down on this moment’s state of being.

The clock strikes one,
Time stands still,
For the party has begun.
People everywhere dance,
Yet the lady in the white dress maintains a stiff, unaltered stance.

No one sees Her,
But she’s there.
Her eyes search the crowd, as if Unsure.
Soon, she begins to walk.
Faster and faster, ignoring hateful talk.

Snacks are passed around on trays,
Little pastries here and there,
As lovers dance the night away.
Yet, one man stands alone,
Tall, dark, handsome, and scented like old cologne.

No one sees Him,
But he’s there.
His eyes search the crowd, on a Whim.
Soon, he begins to walk,
Faster and faster, ignoring hateful talk.

The woman dressed in white
Meets the tall man’s eyes
Then suddenly, that stormy night
Is filled with burning fire
And unavoidable desire.

Blue eyes, brown eyes,
Hold each other’s gaze.
No matter what they think is wise,
They decide to introduce themselves
As the clock goes backwards and strikes twelve.

No one sees Them,
But they’re there
And the lights begin to Dim.
Soon, they start to walk
Faster and faster, ignoring hateful talk.

The thunder fiercely crashes
As they walk through the garden.
Her white dress flows among the smoldering ashes.
I suddenly start to fret,
As I wake in a cold sweat

All of it was a mere dream
Nothing but my mind.
I still remember the charming gleam
In their eyes, big and bright,
On that dark and stormy night.
