Favorite Quote:
"If you don't live for something, you'll die for nothing"

Blood was shed and lives were lost,
But we have are freedom, no matter the cost.
Tears ran down cheeks as many hearts broke,
But you are free, the lost lives spoke.
Be Free.

They went through hell and back to bring us this,
But it is now, only them, we miss.
Do not cry; go be glad and rejoice,
Do not think of us, but of your freedom, said the voice.
Be Free.

They were strong and they were brave,
But they were the men who died to save.
Now they do not think of us or how we were,
They are too consumed with themselves, the voices murmur.
Be Free.

So, live your life for the ones who died for you,
And never forget that you have a purpose too.
Do not forget to feel; do not be ashamed to weep;
For the price of freedom is not cheap.
Be Free.

The author's comments:

This poem is meant to remind people to be thankful for all the lives that were lost to bring them freedom. It is about how at first, people were heartbroken by the war, then heal, and eventually forget about how things used to be. At one time we were not free.
