Contradicting Waves

I idolize the ocean
Water so crystal clear
Tides rising up against the shore
Or falling back for years

I despise the ocean
Always captivating its crowd
Never seizes to impress
Never lets anybody down

I long to see the ocean
Gorgeous outside and within
Never questioning its beauty
Never self-conscious in its skin

I envy the ocean
So free flowing and vast
Always moving forward
Never dwelling on the past

I loathe the ocean
Witnessing everything to see
For it is all in my life
I could only wish to be

Wow, this is incredibly beautiful. I love how you go back to the common beginning over and over again, alternating between how you feel about the ocean. It's also really pretty how you use great imagery (So free-flowing and vast). However, rhyming poetry is practically never published anymore unless it's a children's book, so I suggest you keep that in mind next time you write. :)

Thank you for your comment, and regaurding the rhyming, I do agree that it is never published anymore; however, I do not think that abondoning the art form for that reason  is the right thing to do.
