To make a flood look beautiful,
Break apart the houses.
Separate sticks from flotsam, and
Skewer all the mouses.
Pour dark glitter in the torrent,
Turn the spate shady black.
Set the body on fire, and
Let babies ring its neck.
The piercing screams of families,
Their lifelines thin as thread,
Stay trapped upon their rooftops, so
The song won't reach my head.
Underneath the chaotic sounds
Are two latent beauties.
Like tear trails on dirty windows,
The silence is soothing.
Plant substances over-nourished,
Animals decaying.
Destruction is inspiring, not
Puerile children playing.
