I'm so very extremely bored
I have nothing to do at all
Nothing appeals to me right now
So I'm just staring at a wall.

It stands there proud, nothing to lose
Just a tall and large blank surface
But as I look a little deeper
Some other things come to focus.

At first I just see imperfections
The little chips in the paint
But as I look deeper I see the wall
In a much more abstract way.

Most people actually use a wall
To try to run and hide
So outsiders on the other side don't
Know what going on inside.

And sure it blocks out weather
But also people, they flee
Because of their fear of the other side
The unknown, what they can't see.

With walls nobody completely knows
Exactly what their running from
Because though walls are separations
They're the skin, of the body, of the home.

So sure, there are a list of things
We need to thank walls for
What people need to learn to use
Is actually a door.
