When you thought I wasn’t looking,
I saw your eyes fill up when I smiled at my first football.
When you thought I wasn’t listening,
I heard you cheer at my first goal.
When you thought I wasn’t watching,
I watched you jump up and scream when my team won.
When you thought I wasn’t noticing,
I caught you cleaning my dirty boots.
When you thought I wasn’t dreaming,
I dreamt of making you proud.
But when you thought I wasn’t thanking,
I thanked you for all the things you did
