Waiting for yellow
in days shroud in red
Waiting for the sun to rise
but we’re all still in bed
Wanting our greens
when we can only find blue;
Wanting to find answers
when none of us have a clue
Waiting for summer,
yet leaves fall to the ground
Wanting our silence
but all we hear is sound
Wishing for darkness
where there is too much light,
getting the whole plate
when we only want one bite
Wanting war
when we can only find peace
Begging for ignorance,
this knowledge survives no release
Wanting no responsibility
when there is everything to own
Standing in a crowded room
when you just want to be alone
Wanting only you
when everyone else is near
is like waiting for yellow
when there’s everything to fear.

This poem is for everyone waiting for anything to go right, when everything just goes wrong.
