Cause and Effect

Hand against the glass pane
I whispered as I spoke
I only prayed for one night’s rain
But a bigger force awoke

Breath fogging up the window
Handprint forever stained
The clouds arose, the sun retired
For days on end it rained

I wished for just one nights mist
For my patch of grass was dying
But through my simple selfish prayer
Millions were left crying

I knew I had to make my peace
Or the gods would never slow
So down I lay and began to pray
Apologizing to my angry foe

The storm eventually fell away
Though the damage was already done
Because of just one selfish prayer
The outside forces won

This is one of the best poems I've read in a while. And that is saying something considering I have read alot of poetry lately, This has such deep religous meaning. I really liked it!

Wow. This poem. It has such a strong vibe to it and takes such an interesting perspective to the Hurrican SAndy Tradgety. You get this sense of regret and blame, but at the same time you get this magical feeling when reading it. I loved this so much, and I think that you should keep writing. I look forward to seeing your other poetry on here, and cant wait to read more! Loveddd ittt!!!!
