Grave of a Soldier

From the grave of the long lost soldier
I hear the battle cries
From the grave of the long lost soldier
I see his life go by

Like a cool wind at night
He comes to tell his story
Like a gentle breeze in summer
I drift into his past

From the grave of the long lost soldier
I hear the battle cries
From the grave of the long lost soldier
I see his life go by

And when I get there
It hits me like a bullet
Because that is what it is
His last seconds in life
I relive like it was my own
A fierce battle at hand and victory imminent
A proud feeling inside
Then it hits you like a bullet
Because that is what it is

From the grave of the long lost soldier
I hear the battle cries
From the grave of the long lost soldier
I see his life go by one last time

And then its gone like the wind it came from
And I'm left alone at night once again
