I Was Over

I would not dare to turn my eyes away,
As I stood there, floating above the seas,
I could hear the very voice of God say,

Sky met the ocean in a seamless way,
One fades to the other in all degrees,
I would not to dare turn my eyes away,

Beneath my feet the entire earth lay,
Clouds merge water and air in the warm breeze,
I could hear the very voice of God say,

My eyes were a panorama of day,
I knew this was everyday what God sees,
I would not dare to turn my eyes away,

The ocean shone, reflecting the sun’s rays,
And I could see the earth sigh and appease,
I could hear the very voice of God say,

These lights and hues that ceaselessly amaze,
The memory beggars my description,
I would not dare to turn my eyes away,
I could hear the very voice of God say.

I wrote this as an assignment for my creative writing class. It vaguely details (contridiction?) an experience I had when I was on vacation in Hawaii. I hope that doesn't deter anyone's interpretation.
