Eyes of Her Reflection

March 4, 2012
Look across the shining sea
Into her reality.
See her face in the pool.
She knows she looks like a fool.

Distorted features shame her
As they sit in the water.
Watch her flaws claw out holes
In the depths of her soul.

She cracks the Judas mirror
But the image grows clearer.
If could body split from heart,
She would see the lovely parts.

She travels through her mind
To visit female shrines
That sit atop their alters
In beauty that shant falter.

To be one of these idols,
And no longer be mindful
Of her superficial faults
Would far the misery vault.

A ring through the water echoes
With each jagged stone she throws,
To blur away what she now sees
As eyes open on reality.
