Tears streaming from the little girl’s eyes,
No mommy or daddy in sight,
The little girl’s mind filled with memories,
Of her mother’s and father’s fights.

“I never loved you and I never will,”
Her father said as he left through the front door,
“He’s just mad honey, he loves me very much”
But the little girl cried even more.

The little girl with nowhere to go holds on to hope,
The little girl with no parents in sight could only cry,
The little girl with no love in her heart could never gain happiness,
No matter how hard she tried.

“Mommy will be right back honey,”
Were the last word she heard her mother say,
Her mother went to the bathroom and put a gun to her head,
One shot later and Christmas was made a mournful holiday.

The little girl with nowhere to go holds on to hope,
The little girl with no parents in sight could only cry,
The little girl with no loves in her heart could never gain happiness,
No matter how hard she tried.

The little girl looked at the road ahead,
And hoped a car would come and end her time,
Lying on the road like it was a bed,
She awaited a deep sleep, a sleep so fine.

The little girl with nowhere to go holds on to hope,
The little girl with no parents in sight could only cry,
The little girl with no loves in her heart could never gain happiness,
No matter how hard she tried.

The little girl with closed eyes continued to hope,
But the car never came,
Tired of waiting she opened her eyes,
And there a helping hand was, to take her away from her shame.

Maybe hope is still alive.
