Fragile reality meets my ears
Though once I was deaf, I now hear
The truth: what is said behind my back
I know now, my dear

I know of the words whispered
And the thoughts left unsaid
They’re my friends?
No – they left me for dead

Called me a coward, a cheat, a liar
Standing up for myself, my lungs caught on fire
And was anyone there for me, my dear, except you?
I was abandoned, hanging on to life by a wire

No one seemed to help; no one was there
And if it wasn’t for you I’d say that there was no one to care
What would happen to me? What would I be without you?
The thought itself gives me a scare

Fragile reality, terrible truth
Take it easy on us; do not make thoughts of us float aloof
I know we may trouble fate with our ways
But that’s our job; we’re only youth
