- What Matters
What Would You Do?
I love you,
Do you love me too?
If we ever became a couple,
Would you be afraid I'd get you in trouble?
If your friends didn't accept me,
Would you say, “Hey, don't judge my baby”?
Would you begin to cry,
If I told you it was goodbye?
After I had given you a hug,
Would you pull me back with a tender tug?
Would you rap me in your embrace,
And tell me I had a beautiful face?
Would you hold me close to your heart,
And promise nothing would break us apart?
Are you afraid to grow up,
And tell me people they just need to shut up?
Would you be afraid,
To trade this silly charade,
Of a broken promise,
For a reward of endless bliss?
When we weren't together,
Would you think it was taking forever?
When you go to sleep at night,
Would you dream about holding me tight?
When we were supposed to go on a date,
Would you get mad at me for being late?
It doesn't really matter what you're about,
Trust me baby, one day, we will figure it out.
Then we will be together forever and ever,
And believe me when I say there is no other pleasure,
I will love you until the day I die,
And I promise I will never make you cry.
Now tell me what would you do,
If I told you that I loved you?
Would you trade all of your greatest bliss,
For one sweet, tender, and innocent little kiss?
