Today I broke my sternum
And the doctors said I would die
I knew if I told you, my love
I would see you cry

So I lied and said, “I hate you,”
“Love you? Not once ounce”
You burned and raged, heartbroken
Sprouting insults that I can’t count

So you said you hated me as well
I smiled and cried as one
