- What Matters
The lightning strikes again,
With a pain that will not end,
When I wake up in the evening,
And I cannot lift my head.
The chains that bind my soul,
leave my life as a broken whole,
With nothing left to give,
I falter, while losing control.
I reach out and I am injured,
I recoil but am not cured,
No matter how careful I try to be,
My safety is never ensured.
I wait and I step with a careful foot,
I step into the street with an observant look,
There is nothing to tell me, no signs to say,
That someday it will feel like my grounf never shook.
My freedom's been taken without my concent,
A generation immobile is what i represent,
With no power, no control of my own destinations,
My situation I've come to resent...
I wake up in the quake of a nervous mess,
Could things be worse? I'd have to say yes...
But this is a disaster far too large for myself..
I guess I'll have to just give it my best.
