I Don't Wanna Leave Here Yet


The day my father told me we were packin' up your stuff and leavin'
I just stood there shocked and I was not believin'
that he was making us leave it all behind
that old tree thats been here forever or that crack in the street thats only gotten larger
or that spot where the sun goes down
or that island in the middle of the street where we run and play hide and seek

Why cant you soak it all in the green grass flowing and the blue sky shining
why cant you open up your ears you open up your eyes and see me inside say'n
I dont wanna leave here yet
why cant we stay alittle longer taken our time chillin out with our friends
why can't you open up your arms give me a hug and let us stay one more day
cause I dont wanna leave here yet

I took a walk outside and I knew it was true
the move was was gonna happen nothing I could do
So I said my goodbyes
and I gave out my hugs
happy and excited I was feeling none of the above
so I wrapped my arms around my boo so tightly
let him know that would miss him so greatly
said I visit any time I can
take a walk to the beach put our toes in the sand
But then I heard my pops call me
said it was time to go grab your stuff say goodbye to the party
and I looked into his eyes and said
