Why can't I cause old eyes to glisten
And apathetic ears to listen
Why can't I create rare delicacies
Filled with twists and intricacies
To leave the readers' clubs appeased
And authors' minds impressed indeed
Why does my work face such reject
Why is it met with sour neglect
What is the flaw in what I create
Is there nothing to see in what I make?
Where do I fall flat
What is it I lack
Why can it not be
That I write beautifully?
And apathetic ears to listen
Why can't I create rare delicacies
Filled with twists and intricacies
To leave the readers' clubs appeased
And authors' minds impressed indeed
Why does my work face such reject
Why is it met with sour neglect
What is the flaw in what I create
Is there nothing to see in what I make?
Where do I fall flat
What is it I lack
Why can it not be
That I write beautifully?
