The Death Of My Street Cred

If only you all knew the demons that reside in my countryside
Then maybe you could empathize and allow our worlds to collide
Your sick little twists tore apart my inner limbic system
And crushed my credentials, crushed all that was with them
What can you do after you’ve watched the death of your street cred?
Do you move on? Or stay home, hide from the world, pronounce yourself dead?

We just need some acknowledgment every now and then
Without appreciation we become part of the bed
Maybe I’m sick maybe its all in my head
It’s been a long night, I’m tired and mal-fed

Too much smoke have utilized my lungs as the superhighway
That brings them to forget and repeat it all on this new day
I want to get better and just live blissfully under the naive sun
I am like a cat, I’m curious and after nine reckless lives I have none
Can’t give in to this mechanical hierarchy of marlboro b****es
They are fake, plastic, and materialistic with ulterior motives, no more wishful thinking

We just need some acknowledgment every now and then
Without appreciation we become part of the bed
Maybe I’m sick maybe its all in my head
It’s been a long night, I’m tired and mal-fed

People tell me I’ve changed but I don’t think so
They say that things are different but I don’t think so
I was given one heart, one soul, one start, one goal
The equation will forever more exist, with brand new variables
To go along with your brand new life
