She stands at the window
The wind follows her gaze

Over the ocean

Into the haze

She sleeps at the window

Waiting for years
For the knight to come back

And kiss away her tears

She weeps at the window
Her hair dank and uncurled

Now falls loosely beside her

Not a care in the world

She sighs at the window
Her youth wastes away
And prays he’ll come back

To her, one day...

This is a piece I wrote about a woman who is waiting for years for her love to come back to her. I'm not sure if it is a ballad or not, but as it tells a story... It shows the power of love/passion/obsession and how it can consume us.
