The river keeps a flowin
Faster than I'd like
Yesterday's love floats along
The bird had learned a brand new song

The river keeps a flowin
Boiling hot with hate
I stick my feet in, they burn
I wonder if I'll ever learn

The river keeps a flowin
Rapids strong and fierce
I struggle not to let go
I really must let him know

The river keeps a flowin
Why can't I do the same?
For ever when the river's gone
I'll still be there holdin on
