Failure's First Name

October 14, 2009
If at first you don't succeed,
Try and try again, they say
But what a long and harried walk
it is to go that way;

To never, ever call it quits
and stand each time you fall
seems not a wee bit logical,
that order's very tall.

For 'what if' this and 'what if' that
you cannot guarantee
that all tries in succession
wont end up scarily.

If at first you don't succeed
go find another way
to get all that you want
for theirs is much too gray.

I prefer one goosebumps-less
and with all gain, no pain
I'm terrified just thinking
for it's driving me insane.

But now, oh do not listen,
forget my wide-eyed tears,
I'd forgotten to remind you
Failure's first name is Fear.
