A New Beginning


Aimlessly,
wondering about the forest,
only one thing ran through my
mind.

Strangely,
it wasn't the strong, significant scent of nature,
or the fresh, fragrance of the mild blowing breeze.

Typically,
the forest tended to be a peaceful
environment.
Today was different though.

Thoroughly,
I studied the blade of the loggers' saw slicing
through the tree's thin timber torso.
Leaving only it's trunk to
decay as if it were the bodies
of young soldiers.

Suddenly,
my mind shifted
and I began to
realize
something new about departure.

It wasn't the tree's end of life, only
a new beginning.
