Life is like an open book
With blank pages for everyone to write upon.
Will you let them be the authors?
Or are you strong enough to say no.
Once you take that cigarette, once you take that drink,
There’s no turning back.
You’re life is written in permanent ink.
No erasing,
No rewinding.
It’s there to haunt you,
For the rest of your life.
I,
Have the power to say no.
I,
Have the power, to reject.
To reject what could stay in my memory.
I will not let you write in my book.
I will not let your sweet talk
Get the best of me.
I am the author of my book.
I,
Will choose to stay strong.
And if you wanna do that,
You’re weak.
I don’t want to sound mean,
But it’s true.
You trusted in him,
Look now,
Look what happened to you.
My book,
Will be written by me.
I choose to stay clean.
To live my life the way it should be.
So what are you going to do?
Take that cigarette, and forget about me?
Well I hope so.
Because I want to forget about you.
For my book is closed.
And my story to you...is through.

Wow, this is a really good poem. I love it and can really make a person think about the right choices they should make. Great job!
