Favorite Quote:
"some belive it is only great power that can gold evil in check. But that is not what I have found. I have found is is the small every-day deeds of the ordinary-folk that keeps the darkness at bay. small acts of kindness and love."
-Gandalf

Who finds safety in the forest?
Is it the witch, in her house of sweets?
Is is the prince of rogues running from the law?
Is it the little girl followed by the hungry wolf?
Perhaps it is someone or something much simpler.
Or perhaps it is nothing at all.

Who finds safety in the water?
Is it the mermaid who hungers for flesh?
Is it the kelpie, wishing for someone to ride to their death?
Is it the Bake-kujira, The ghost whale who brings curses and misfortune?
Perhaps it is something less evil, perhaps it is something less deadly.
Or, perhaps it is nothing at all.

Who finds safety on the lone, winding path?
Is it the little man made of bread, running for his life?
Is it the hare, raceing to beat the tortise?
Is it the wandering nomad, on a spirituel journey
Perhaps it is something else, something with a home
Or perhaps it is nothing at all.

Who finds safety in the sky?
Is it the Valkyrie, on a mission from the great Allfather?
Is it the djinn, running from its master?
Is it the dragon, escaping with the damsel?
Perhaps it is something else, something more “down to earth”
Or perhaps it is nothing at all.

Perhaps,
The one who finds true safety
Is the one who sits at the desk.
Perhaps it is the one with the quill.
The one who scritch-scratches on paper all day and all night.
Yes, perhaps the one who finds true safety,
Is the Writer.
Or perhaps it is no one at all.

I wrote this pice to encourage people to write. I personally really like to write, and I think everyone has a story, be it fictional or real, and those stories are waiting to be written.
