A Witches Death

Tomorrow I die a witch’s death
Though innocent I be.
Tomorrow I’ll hang at Gallows Hill
Mine eyes no more to see.

There’s no escaping death, I’m told,
And since my time is soon,
I hope to wear a snow white gown
My hair shining, ‘neath the moon.

I want my love to kiss me once,
And then to say ‘good-bye’
I want his heart to fill with fire
As his bride I go, to die.

I want my love to see me dance,
A rope about my neck.
I want him to remember me that way,
A beautiful, innocent, wreck.

I want my Mum to holler and wail,
I want to hear her cry.
I want to know she loves me still,
As I softly go to die.

I want my Mum to see me twirl,
A rope about my neck,
I want her to remember me that way,
A beautiful, innocent, wreck.

I want my Da to stand up tall,
I want to see him lie.
I want to see him feign its okay
As I hang down to die.

I want my Da to see me float,
A rope about my neck.
I want him to remember me that way,
A beautiful, innocent, wreck.

Tomorrow I die a witch’s death
Though innocent I be.
Tomorrow I’ll hang at Gallows Hill
Mine eyes no more to see.
